Shipping policy
Once order is made, you will be contacted to arrange a delivery day that works best for you, we are very accommodating with deliver dates but with bulky items occasionally things happen, so, if for reasons beyond our control the date is moved resulting in cost or inconvenience to the customer, it is not the liability of Abode Furniture. If the day agreed is unfulfilled then another day will be allocated we will endevour to make this within a 10 day window, however due to reasons beyond our control this may not always be possible depending on our capacity for fulfilment being over run or if you are located further away from us. If another day within the delivery window is not feasible then the soonest date the customer is available can be allocated as new delivery slot.
Some long distance orders will be allocated to our courier partners, they will collect from us in the days leading up to the date you are expecting delivery, if you wish to cancel your order past the time of collection from us by the courier we get billed for it anyway as if they actually did the delivery, this charge the a £149 fee in these instances.
Our courier partners are used regularly so have proven to be overall a great service provider, but as with bulky goods, delays can happen for a wholee host of reasons. We must insist that delays / postponements caused by our courier partners beyond our control are not at the liability of the Abode and any cancellation or return due to this will be chargeable at a cost of £249, we will have paid the courier and processed the order our end so this aims to cover the cost of this.
Disclaimer Note that all reference to timescales in terms of days are recognised working days Monday-Friday. This means a delivery window of 14 days may actually mean you get your order date on the 18th day if there were two weekends in between.
All Deliveries
- For all deliveries except our Full Assembly service, unfortunately we are unable to unpack your order or take the packaging away. On the day before your delivery we will send you a text message (SMS) re-confirming the delivery date and also provide you with a three - four hour delivery window. On the day of delivery we will call you 20 - 60 minutes before to let you know we're on the way.
- Our products begin their journey to you before the actual delivery date. Therefore if you need to amend your delivery date within this time frame, you will be charged a £49 late re-delivery fee. If an order is cancelled within 2 days (48hrs) prior to the stated delivery date, a return fee will apply.
- If for any reason you need to return your items, you will need to repackage them securely. We therefore recommend you keep your original packaging in good condition until you are 100% satisfied with your products.
- Some large items (such as sofas, beds and wardrobes) do require minimal assembly if you opt for the cheaper service. It is not hard, but does require 2 people to move the items without damaging them. Returns are not accepted for damage caused during self assembly.
- Please check the measurements and delivery access to Your home. It is important to check the measurements of Your Products by visiting Our Website or by calling Our customer service team. Please ensure that there is adequate doorway and stair access. We cannot accept any liability for any extra costs incurred by you as a result of incorrect or incomplete measurements or information supplied by You. If an item does not fit any delivery fee is non-refundable. A charge at a rate of £249 will be deducted from the refund, to cover the return relisting and restocking fees incurred. Alternatively we do offer store credit to choose another item that we can ensure will fit.
- If any fault or damage is detected, this must be written on the delivery note. Once goods have been accepted and signed for, we cannot accept claims for goods damaged in transit if you have not indicated damage on the delivery note. We document condition before it leaves us, if the courier delivers to you and it has damage, we can claim, if you don't mention it on delivery, we can't!

Our drivers are very careful, however we cannot accept responsibility for any damage to your property whilst delivering your goods. This goes for both our own teams and courier partners. We are super careful to not cause damage to your home, but should the worst happen, we cannot cover any costs incurred.

Any customer refusing delivery of goods for any reason other than goods damaged will be responsible for the delivery costs to the customer and the return to our warehouse. EG the seat is too high off of the ground.
Doorstep Delivery / Nearest Accessible Location ( Lots Of Customer Involvement Needed )
- We will deliver to the doorstep of the home and will not be able to enter your home. This is the front door of the building if you live in an apartment block. A member of your household will need to be present to accept delivery and carry your furniture over your threshold. This is a 2 person job to move the furniture without risking damage or harm.
- If you prefer, we can deliver to a secure garage on the ground floor. If your garage is not joined to your property we will need to see proof of identification at the point of delivery.
- If you live in a flat, we can only deliver to the entrance of your building, and not to your front door of the apartment.
- Our furniture is not flat packed, and therefore can be large and heavy. Getting larger items upstairs, for example, can be particularly challenging. If you have ordered larger items (for example sofas, dinning tables wardrobes, chest of drawers, sideboards) you will need someone from to help you carry your items into your home and into the room of your choice when our delivery team arrives.
Full Assembly Service ( Recommended )
- Our Full Assembly Delivery option gives you room of choice delivery, and our expert delivery team will unpack your item(s), set them up where you want them to go in your room(s), and will take all the packaging away once they are done setting up, leaving you to enjoy your new beautiful furniture, hassle free. They will deliver up to the 3rd floor where required and even go higher if there is a lift that the items fit in.
Delayed Delivery Date / Furniture Storage
- We offer fast delivery, but if you do not need the furniture so quickly, we can store the items. we offer 12 week free storage after the day of order. If you wish for us to hold the item long than 12 week free window then a fee of £25 a week is charged to cover the cost.
